You are aware that International Organization for Standardization-ISO Geneva (member body of 165 countries) has developed a global standard called Guidelines for Internal and External Human Capital Reporting-ISO 30414. There is a significant opportunity for human resources professionals who can help business develop the human capital data and information most appropriate for managing their organizations as well as what they disclose to their stakeholders including shareholders, customers and employees.

There is a swell of interest by investors in human capital measurement and impact on the sustainability of organization. Global bodies including "Sustainability Accounting Standards Board USA" and the "International Integrated Reporting Council UK” emphasizes the value of reporting on human capital.

These changes in rules could not be timelier. The COVID-19 pandemic has focused stakeholders’ attention on customers and employees’ safety and welfare. Companies are grappling with how to adapt to retain their workforce, provide a safe workplace, and respond to difficulties in supply chains or remote work environments.
